Derby Celebrated International Women's Day on March 11th in Market Sq. The annual event is organised and hosted by Women's Day Derby. Hundreds of people milled in and out of the various marquis enjoying a programme of on stage entertainment, talks and workshops across the Square (including at the Quad).
The large marquis which was central to the event housed a myriad of over 40 diverse stalls from charity and other Third Sector organisations and small business sellers, Yoga Yurt, local HERstory Derby exhibition (100 Years of International Woman's Day in Derby, Scallywags Playbus, food and gift stalls and a fee crèche.
Vox Feminarum: Women's Voices was very much present, showcasing all its programmes and fundraising but the emphasis was on The Deeds Not Words Towards Liberation Project.

The second main focus for VF was to network with individuals and organisations about the Deeds Not Words Towards Liberation Project and to encourage contributions to the Commemorative Quilt. Hundreds of votes were cast and we managed to add to the growing list of poetential contributors to the quilt.
It was a wonderful celebratory event and a very busy day of ourtreach for the team. Thank you to Vanessa Boon and the Women's Day Derby Team (especially for the lovely tribute paid to the VF Team) xx
