Remembering Together....

As part of our Vote100 endeavour we are asking that women, men and young people will share their images and any memories of events and activities they have attended/visited and or organised to celebrate the Centenary. Please send your photographs and a short write-up (50 - 250 words) of 'how you experienced/celebrated the Centenary of the first women winning the right to vote in a general election. We hope to create an archive of information on the experiences of Derby and Derbyshire women throughout 2018. Just keep the information - photographs, memorabilia, pamphlets, posters, short write-ups etc coming. Please email information to vox.feminarum@gmail.com or post any hard copies to Deeds Not Words Towards Liberation Project, The Mandela Centre, 179 Pear Tree Rd, Derby, DE238NQ

On The Shoulders of Giants Exhibition Feb 9th 2018 Joanna West's Reflections on Visiting the Exhibition

Excellent exhibition at the Mandela Centre about Women’s Suffrage. It was great to see it, learn more about some amazing women (a lot from Derbyshire!) and be there with friends.

Also fantastic to see two amazing women from Shakespeare Street (was it ours?) had signed the 1866 petition! Hope they got to vote!
